Ayr Racecourse
Ayr Racecourse opened in 1907 for Flat racing and introduced National Hunt racing in 1950 although Ayr can date its earliest horse races to the 17th century. Hosting up to 30 race meetings in a year including the Coral Scottish Grand National and William Hill (Ayr) Gold Cup makes Ayr Racecourse the premier racecourse in Scotland.
The track is mostly flat and approximately four furlongs over a mile in length, along side a six furlong straight course for the William Hill (Ayr) Gold Cup, all contained within 155 acres.
