Folkestone Racecourse
An attractive country venue, Folkestone is situated four miles west of the Kent port. Although the racing is of average quality, the facilities for a small course are above average and meetings attract knowlegeable crowds. One of the principal racedays is the United Hunts Meeting in May, an evening fixture for amateur riders that draws big crowds from the world of point-to-pointing.
Established in 1898 and located in the South Downs at Westenhanger, the site of Queen Elizabeth 1st headquarters for her Kent army. Folkestone plays host to twenty days of racing a year, both Flat and National Hunt.
